Job description

As FTTH Fiber Designer, your responsibilities include the following tasks:

Creation of Network Designs for FttH projects for various Telecom operators and Network Managers.
Creation of the designs in Comsof Fiber, Qgis, ArcGis & Autocad.
Several iterations consisting of: HLD, LLD and as-built integration
- Gathering all necessary information
  - GIS data (ex. GRB “Large-scale reference file Flanders”)
  - Protected buildings/townscapes, Artworks
  - Scopelist of the client
  - Possible routing
- Processing the information mentioned above for the setup in the
  GIS platform.
- Applying Comsof Fiber algorithm in Qgis/Arcgis to generate an HLD
- Manually optimizing the HLD run
  - Logic trajectory:
    - Façade
    - Trenching
    - Aerial
  - Material use:
    - Correct material use in each network layer
    - Optimization of ducts and cables.
  - BOM (bill of material)
    - Export
    - BOM sheet
  - Preparation of construction documents
    - Civil construction schemes
    - Blowing schemes
    - Welding schemes

Your qualities:

You obtained a Master or Bachelor degree in a technical field or are equivalent by experience.
You dispose of a very good 2D knowledge of Autocad. This provides a good basis towards drawing quality.
Preferably you have several years of experience as draughtsman or fiber designer.
Preferably experience with Fiber to the Home.
Preferably experience in making Fiber Optic Network designs (for FTTH).
You are stress resistant, well organized, can work with deadlines and are an independent worker.
You are highly motivated and people can rely on you.
You have a good technical insight and orientation ability (working with topographic plans).
You are an ICT-minded person, can easily deal with MS-office programs and are open to learn new programs.
You are flexible (no 9 to 5 mentality).
Knowledge of Autocad, ArcGis, Comsof Fiber is a plus.

Language skills:

English: very good (oral and written)
